WHOO!HOO! off the scale 60'. Watched the vid 10 times (nice work Chuckster) and that is a really great video! Lov the Grand National also. Back in 88 when I bought my 5.0 LX I always lost by a few tenths and have a special place in my heart for those cars.
Very exciting John and congrads on your new company! exciting times.

Oh yeah. Nice ""full metal jacket"" transmission you have there <G> .

Congrats John, really impressive numbers.

This proves to me that the stock transmission is stronger than most people think it is.

Sweeet run John! After you ran your 10.8, I shared that with an STI buddy that hangs out on the Subi forum. He is always giving me grief over the transmission issue. I told him the GT-R will see 9's within a year. He strongly disagreed. Said that high 10's was the GT-R limit. Guess it's time to update my STI boy.

I've got my money on you shaving off another half second bro. And when you do, I want to dial that setup in when the snow melts here in Utah.

Cowboy

PS - Just think how fast you would be going with a strong transmission. LOL..

It exists for one reason and one reason only-to kick holy ass. And kick ass it does. You don't have to like it. You just have to stay the hell out of its way."

So with the GT-R you have to hit the gas before the light hits green right? From the vid it clearly looks like you actually launched before hit hit green... So, good timing there...

Nice run. All I have to say is bow down to the 10.55 GT-R. That 60 foot is just killing it.

Just adding parts doesn't make cars faster, unless those parts are a restriction or causing a problem. I would want to see how efficient the GT-R intercoolers are prior to replacing them just to replace parts.

The factory GT-R intercoolers are pretty good. At 17 psi, they are still probably pretty efficient. The ambient temp is 71 degrees. I don't see too much point. If you just go bigger, you lose a little response time, as you have to fill up that much more area.

congrats again, John! clap.gif

That is an incredible run. I agree with others.... 9s are just around the corner. Thing I keep thinking is we have barely tapped the potential of this car yet. Owners/parts manufacturers/tuners are just now starting to figure things out. Typically a model has to be out a year or more before you start seeing significant mod combinations come together. We are at what, 6 mos in the US... right at a year if you count back to the Japanese release? Yeah, I expect to see some pretty stellar numbers coming soon!

Thanks, guys!

John dude, I am really convince that if you go and put on those AHR ceramic wheel bearing and pulley bearings now you'll hit 10 secs flat!

And if you change your intercooler to those bigger TRUST ones. I am sure you'll hit 9's!!!!!

Well, I can guarantee you the car won't go .5 seconds faster. Not unless the bearings can add well over 100HP. ;-)

We have the AHR wheel bearings but haven't had a chance to put them on the car yet. We were hoping to get our dyno installed first so we can start documenting changes before we continue with just adding a bunch of stuff to the car.

I am supposed to be getting one of the first Espirt IC systems as soon as they ship. Mike @ GT-RR tells me they hope to start shipping after Tokyo Auto Salon.

It's not by choice. The track is usually so crowded that it takes that long before you get your turn again. And sometimes someone will breakdown on the track (Ugh. Like Wednesday night) and you end up waiting 2 hours+ to run again. (No fun.) But to pass the time we usually just walk around and talk to the other drivers and check out their cars. It's a cool community of car enthusiasts.

YES. I've been saying for months that I think the weak tranny thing is a MYTH. I think the broken ones happened from many successive launches done in a row with the car being overheated.

That's with any car in drag racing. You pretty much want to floor it when the last yellow light hits; because it takes a split-second for the car to react. In this 10.55 run in the time slip image above you can see my 'reaction time' (RT) was .244. That means I left .244 seconds AFTER it hit green.

EXACTLY. We haven't seen anything yet. Several companies are working on bigger turbos, engine upgrades, and more.

I am running drag radials. Slicks might improve things a bit more.
