This the GTC R35 owned by Ben.

QUOTE
Big thanks to Rob and the gang at perfect touch for the chance to put the 35 on their awesome Dastek 4wd dyno.

My car is totally factory standard, standard boost and run in

Official word is 'Its maximum power is 480 PS (473bhp) (353 kW) at 6400rpm'

We decided to try out BP Ultimate 102 unleaded, (which is still pump fuel).... 520 bhp @ 6,617

BP is supplied to the US as Arco fuel. by far some of the worst gas you can buy for your car. the numbers are nice still. though using 102 octane (under which scale?).

that's 102RON gas.. not the same rating as US octane (M+R)/2 . If you want to compare to the same scale, the published AKI octane (what we use in North America) of that fuel is 96 .

Source: http://www.bp.com/sectiongenericarticle.do...ntentId=7016847
High Research Octane Number (RON) of 102 and Motor Octane Number (MON) of 90 to allow engines to be tuned for increased performance and higher boost pressures.

Good standard numbers. There is always a 15-20% loss in power from engine to the wheels. Wait till you raise the boost and add some bolt on's. Should make easily 600 hp to the engine, and about 540 to the wheels.

Wasn't there a bone stock Red R35 that put down 480ish at the hubs. I know it can't be that much of a loss with wheels on. Why are these numbers lower?

457 @ the wheels is still incredible! Look at the "Engine" number. 520!!!! That's 40 more hp than what Nissan is stating (granted, this is the computer guestimating drive-train loss).

By the way (not that Rob cares apparently smile.gif )...you just voided your warranty on a public forum by putting the Castrol oil in...lol. doh.gif

I think computer guesstimated drive train loss numbers are a hoot.

All that matters is what you put to the ground.

If you say, well, I have 2000hp at the block but I put 450 to the ground, do you care? NO, it makes 450 hp.

Any way, nice numbers, thanks for sharing.

the other dyno's were used are dyno jets. they are not a good estimate of power of a car. tuners use them because its a easier way to run stock and then swap parts and see the differnce in hp. thats it. they may use those higher numbers for sales/advertising too depeding on how they want to play the market.

plus i think they hit some sort of limiter with the dynojet figures. in any case... this is the way to go. its not going to get exact figures either, but its closer to what it should be!

Is that 440 ft-lb of torque at the wheels or at the crank??

um... the other dyno was DYNOPACK, not dynojet. dynojet is similar to this one.

That's a good question. It's supposed to have 433 lb/ft from 3200 - 5200, but the graph doesn't resemble that at all. Kinda weird that the max torque is at the end of the graph; most of the time you'll see torque peak early and start to fade-off in the higher rpm's.

BP 102 is 102 RON and 90MON. That equates to 96 Octane on the US scale ((102RON+90MON)/2).

It is a pump fuel available in the UK at BP gas stations.

SUPPLIERS OF THE BEST JAPAN HAS TO OFFER

Thanks to Benji for these pictures and information. 457 hp at the wheels. 520 hp at the engine. 480 hp is just a little bit of an understatement by Nissan. Again more verification of it. There are some more pictures, but we have to wait until after the 22nd to post them.

457 horsepower at the wheels using BP Ultimate 102 octane fuel. "Ordinary UK quality petrol is required to meet a MON rating of 85, with premium fuels typically having a MON of 86. But not only has BP Ultimate 102 been specially formulated to have a RON of 102, it is also guaranteed to have an incredible 90 MON rating."

In the US 102 RON + 90 MON / 2 = 96 PON

have to wait until the 22nd?
