Modds to do: For Lightness 1) Mine's carbon fibre doors, hood, trunk, front bumper and splitter. 2) Spec V Ti exhaust system 3) AP Racing brake kit 4) Nismo Spec V suspension and wheels. 5) Nismo transmission cooler kit. |

straight line Z06 will be faster... i bet 0-120 mph z06 is much faster...But HUGE respect for GTR for doing so good with all that weight.

I hope someone finds a way to remove that 111mph speed limiter soon. It is clearly inhibiting the Gt-R's straightline performance. But I do agree with the thought that the Z06 is faster but NOT much fastr with the speed limiter removed.

But I do agree with the thought that the Z06 is faster but NOT much fastr with the speed limiter removed. well I bet 0-150 mph Z06 will be much faster due to lower weight. I'm lazy to check but i think 0-150 time for Z06 is around 17 seconds. Still GTR was made to beat turbo and not Z06 so this comparison is not so important. |

To 150 is a different story it seems but I have to concede since I am not as knowledgeable about the Z06. Still it is all round perfromance by the Gt-R. 1.21 around that track is not an easy task.
I wonder if anyone can post a visual of the track. It would give everyone an idea of wht it was like... Thanks Chuck, it is awesome how you can zoom in on the track. Gives you a great bird' eye view. The GT-R is right behind some real track demons on the fast lap times(12th) The Enzo, the Radical, The CGT etc. I see the 996 Turbo is running a 1.19 even faster than the Carrera GT. Is that a stock car or is it modified? -------------------- ]"The GT-R shares the assassin's single-minded sense of purpose. It is brutally cold, clinical and calculating." ---- Evo mag's Car of the Year.

I must say that I am a little disappointed with the 0-60 times posted in the Evo article. Nissan released claims of 0-60 in 3.5 and independent test show 0-60 in 3.3. So where did the three tenths to half a second go. I know the car was new, and borrowed from a personal owner, with the 112 mph limiter still enabled. With the given times, how can the GTR complete the 1/4 mile in 11.6-11.7, when it took nearly 9 seconds to hit 100. Are you telling me the GTR can do 100 to nearly 121 as 1/4 mile traps have been posted in about 2.6 to 2.7 seconds. I hope their is a US spec tested soon which shows better results. I still love the GTR and have one on order, premium gun metal gray, with balck interior.
Could the results be driver error, since only one good launch was allowed. Thought every article said the car was almost fool proof, making a common man Michael Shumacher!!!!! Good read otherwise regarding beating the Porsche/Audi. |

WOW! ![]() I can't wait till mine arrives! ![]() What a victory! ![]() ON a side note: I agree, I feel the Z06 would get to 150 mph faster...but who cares, no disrespect, the Z06 is awesome in its own do right, but I highly doubt the cars in the street, on the race track, or even the dragstrip will be hitting speeds that high. -------------------- Just a little while longer!

wow, that was a hell of an article.... the Z06 will beat a GTR based on teh weight and once a Z06 hooks up its has an amazing top end.... the GTR does more....
The only concern here is the DCT... it seems to be the saving grace but once other people start gettinga hold of these then its a new game and we will have to reply on the Vspec.... I'll keep my GTR a few years and plan on maybe doing the variants of it if they ever come to these shores that laptime is amazing, proving anyone wrong who still disbelieves the 7:38 -------------------- Delivered !! 8/05/08 2009 NISSAN GTR PREMIUM....
