More good information! And one good reason to consider purchasing the extended warranty?

Now, someone is going to have to check to make sure that the extended warranties cover the clutch as well. Each warranty is different, and depending on who exactly puts out the warranty, or the terms of the warranty, there may be differences.

At least we all can have a little more piece of mind for the first 60k miles.

Have a Question:

Looking at the 1st diagram, it appears that the clutch displayed is just a normal 'cheap' clutch. Nothing special - as compared to a dual clutch in the DCT. Could the clutch in the 1st diagram be a 'sacrificial' and replaceable item for the DCT posterior to it?

There is no clutch there behind the engine. Thats just a flywheel.

Basing this off a FAST Diagram ?

Its not a clutch, it has no actuators. It might be a damper. I never took that section of the engine/trans/thing off.

It might have springs it it to help lessen the shock on the driveline. I would have to look at the actual part, not the FAST diagram.

I am going to check out the service manual and see what it shows and says.

Its a sprung hub flywheel. That and a carbon driveshaft, which both have some give, and still breaking gears.

If i have to guess from my experience, i would say ti is the wheel hop that is killing the gearbox on the GTR35. we need to find a way to solve this problem but i think with the Suspension turned to the R (Stiff) Mode in order to use the launch control, it is going to make it even harder.

the zr1 suspension rocks, when it does launchs it prepairs the suspension for it so it goes as perfect as possible.
