NEW THREAD HERE:http://www.nagtroc.org/forums/index.php?sh...r>* Video AddedWe found the limits of the GT-R's transmission and now we're working on finding the limits of the engine.Nitrous is dangerous, kids. :)We probably had the world's first 'fire out of all 4 exhaust tips' launch and the engine blew.
Not exactly the way I wanted to end the night. Here's The Video...* Sorry for the crappy quality. Apparently the camera captured some poor footage due to low light. This post has been edited by JohnTurbo: Apr 17 2009, 07:19 PM -------------------- 2010 White GT-R

Your crazy John!
Do I predict the first nagtroc GT-R with all forged internals? Maybe this is a good thing, now you can build a motor that can handle 1000hp, purpose build for drag racing and find the limits of that new gear set. |

We probably had the world's first 'fire out of all 4 exhaust tips' launch and the engine blew. We're waiting for a tow truck at the track now. Not exactly the way I wanted to end the night. I'll post the explosion-in-all-it's-glory video later. Just for kicks you should take the car (as it is) to your nearest Nissan dealer and demand Warranty servicing. |

Sorry to hear. Were you still running the 25 shot on each side manually switched?

We found the limits of the GT-R's transmission and now we've found the limits of the engine. With all due respect, I don't think this is a very accurate statement. As you know, nitrous has many variables to consider during it's application that pure air/boost do not. I would guess that your Air fuel ratios, for some reason, were way out of wack and you put a hole in a piston. Of course I wasn't there to see the bang but the fact that tuners are making more HP than your set up and haven't blown an engine around a road course would lead me to think that the NOS set up alone was the culperate. (Unless you twisted the crank from the TQ at launch, which I doubt) no malice, I just don't believe that your statement "found the limits of the engine" is entirely accurate given the circumstances. Peace out |
