if a stock R35 trans cost $20+k and more to install, why not make the car RWD and use the EMCO sequential. :D

I'll reiterate unless he's running 18" DR's and pushing well over 600whp he has little chance at all if you're pushing 600awhp 40-140mph should be 3-4 lengths min. in your advantage. I said pretty much the vette needs DR otherwise he'll be spinning his tires the whole time. I had a mildly modded C5 vette, but not close to that much power and I could break the tires lose at 40. Thanks. |

Guys im pretty sure ill beat or be able to hold off my buddies Z06 with just a bolt on charger, but some of these other C6 Z06's that STI2EVO2GTR wants me to race are serious performers man. Gonna need a set of turbos for them! heres a link of the vettes and check out some of there other videos.

If i were you i'd consider what type of tires he's running...oem size is somewhere between 325/345 in the rear. If he throws on serious dr's ( i'm sure he will ) ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9fQAGnMtqxg 678 rwhp 600tq to the wheels on a car much lighter than yours. You'll have him until he hooks and than you will not catch up, my estimate 40mph . Alot of you underestimate the top end pull of the ls7..especially fi'd. Get it on video though for sure !!!.. ..oh but if he can't shift than forget it - it'll be like he's ice skating Hey Guys New to the Forum( got a black GTR 2009 with 10,000 miles a few days ago) ...the silver c6z supercharged was my car(sold it today) i put down 678rwhp and 600trq with 7,5 psi. when the temps were in the 50's 60's it ran like a mofo!! 0-80 in 4 sec on crappy nitto invos on the street... crappy granny shifting.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8Alo43QIYE I did run at 3800DA 11.2 at 132.5 mph 60ft time was 2.17 :( (vegas is a VERY slow track) ZR1's run 122 stock... I have been driving a stock GTR for a few days temps are around 95-102* car feels real quick, i plan on doing some upgrades.. would like to be at 550whp-600whp.. i spoke to drago today and he gave me some advice.. ill be calling AMS to see what they think... Monday im taking the car to nissan for the lc-2 software.. just to let you guys know temps are 60+ i can dead hook 2nd and partial hook my z06..so traction on the street was not an issue.. if he is running DR... from a roll you he should beat you pretty bad with that s/c .. assuming you run 130? he will be running 135+ so it will be tough.. now if hes only running 4-5 psi.. i think you have a great chance with 550+whp.. s/c hp falls between shifts and make only peak power not alot under the curve.. -------------------- 2009 GTR black on blk

Well its about that time!! My detail guy is in my driveway and he's almost done with the polishing, Just got a call from my buddy his car is on the road and the weather is nice so both cars should run to its full potential, I dynoed my car yesterday at Akuma and on 93 pump gas on a mustang dyno it did 516awhp, and 508 torque on only 18psi. I'm told those dynos read rather low. I have 110 octane race gas and the boost to 22psi so i should be what maybe 550awhp. should be interesting ill get back to you guys. wish me luck lol

Good luck, hope you dont have upgraded intercoolers because youre not going to gain anything from going to 18 to 22psi on these stock turbos. I have the greddy and mine put down 535 on 16 and 541 on 18 lbs. I had him turn it back down to 16 just to be on the safe side. With the ic and intakes and full exhaust the motor is too efficiant for these stock turbos. I dont know who you have talked to but from what i gathered from talking to several shops and my tuner that anything over 20 is no good for the motor. The turbos are maxed out and are blowing a crap load of super hot air. YOure intercoolers wont even have a cold side anymore. I split the impeller shaft right in half on my sti from too high of boost on the stock turbo. GOOD LUCK!!!!

I hope that all of us GTR owners aren't cocks(top gear), i know theres a few out there from what i saw and heard so far but lets try and not have the image burnt onto the gtr and come on out too the track.

I just called him to see if I can get an update.
He said the guy in the Vette lives in CT and has to drive down to Long Island to meet him. Nick is running 109 race gas and he can't go to far from home. So he is waiting to hear back from the guy with the Vette. He said he'll give me a call as soon as the race is over. -------------------- AMS GT-R

Dude nick u need a twitter and an iphone or something to update us asap! Lol I hope it goes well! Did john get the rpm based map on it? Did he say 22 would be good? Hope it works crossing my fingers X. His car is nuts. It made an exceptional amount of power with very few mods. I can not wait to see how Nick did with this race. We were able to get his car to run as close to stock as possible. I think the intake design plays a roll in dome very minor drive ability issues. I have a few base maps for 800cc injectors and his car took a bit more tweaking than usual, but the trims are with in +/- 5% throughout the rpm range. The intake has a very sharp bend before the MAF which is mounted up-side down. Not an ideal set up for a MAF sensor. His car worked very well and I am glad to have had the opportunity to work on the project. Nick is a model customer, he is patient, reasonable, and eager to learn about his vehicle. Thx. Nick. The way nick is I'm sure he's doing everything he can to get this race on already lol. His car is definitely an animal and after getting it up on the dyno I am even more confident that his car is more than ready to put up a fight!! After he's finished with this run, we'll post up some graphs and videos!

John would probably have a better (more technical) answer as far as the power gains relating to boost go for the GTR, but there is always a car-to-car basis when it comes to modifying. This goes for any platform, not just the GTR. Each car responds differently to modification, and even the EXACT same modifications will not always net the same gain for two vehicles. For nick's example, his specific mods seem to work very well with his car and it seemed to be working very efficiently. The stock turbos normally seem to hit a wall where his did not suffer quite as much, and he netted some very nice power compared to similarly modded GTR we've had at the shop. As stated in my previous post, we'll put up some graphs and videos as soon as we have the go. Evan -------------------- 2004 Azure Blue Mach 1 Mustang
