I already know many of you...but for those of you who don't know me, my name is Peter Blach and I have been the organizer of the TX2K - Supra Nationals series for the past 11 years! I purchased my GT-R a few months back and started to have conversations with Chuck_H about getting NAGTROC to come on board and help me put on a GTR-Nationals event alongside the Supra-Nationals event. In summary, this event will be in Houston, TX on March 18, 19, 20, and 21, 2010.....the event will consist of road racing/driver's education, dyno day (we have 2 dyno's, an AWD dyno and single wheel drive dyno side by side), drag racing, a 60-130 event and a night meet. This will be the 11th year for me to put this event on and I want to turn this into an annual GTR National event that is as big as the Supra event. This type of event is the ONE you plan on going to every year and I would hope that others that have come to the event will chime in to help support the validity and overall feel of TX2K events.

So far, NAGTROC has committed to being a sponsor of TX2K10 - GTR Nationals. I have communicated with other vendors on this forum and have verbal committment from 2 others on this board (I will post their involvement as soon as they 100% confirm their support).

Thursday March 18, 2010 - Road Racing/Driver's Education at Grandsport Speedway

The road racing/driver's education event for TX2K10 will be held at Grandsport Speedway.

We will be running the 1.4 mile long Mako Circuit:

Continue down FM 2004 for about 5 miles right through Hitchcock until you see four large concrete pillars on your left. The track is behind these pillars. The dyno day schedule will work the same way it's worked over the last five years. First come first serve... I will be at Lonestar at 8:20 am on Friday and will be taking sign ups for the dyno day that morning. Sponsors will get a guaranteed spot but the rest of the spots will be open to anyone. The first car will hit the dyno at 9:00 am and we will dyno cars every 20 minutes until 5:00 pm. In addition, this year, we will be running 2 side by side dyno's. One will be an AWD dyno, the other our standard RWD dyno.

Food: concessions will be open all day

Directions from the Host Hotel:
From the Hotel, take I-10 WEST and stay on I-10 for approximately 40 miles. Exit 713 Beckendorf Road and follow the signs to Lonestar (once you exit to the right, you will take a left and onto a bridge over I-10, then you will turn right onto the access road on the other side of I-10 and follow to Lonestar).

Saturday March 20 - Test-n-Tune, 2 Rounds of Qualifying and 60 to 130 Event

The Drag Racing event will be at Lonestar Motorsports Park (www.lonestarmotorsportspark.com) for the third year in a row. This year, we will once again bring back the "drag racing for 2 days option". Here are the details:

The track will open at 10:00 am on Saturday morning. The track will go hot at 11:00 am and drag racing will continue until 5:00 pm. The schedule on this day will consist of test-n-tune, 2 rounds of qualifying for the next days eliminations and the 60-130 competition.

Cost: spectators will pay $20 to LMP on Saturday. Racers will be able to purchase a "2-day tech card" on Saturday (NON-REFUNDABLE if you break on Saturday) for $80 (in addition to the $20 cost to enter). If a racer only wants to run on Sunday, the tech cards will be the same price as last year, $45 (in addition to the $20 cost to enter). Lastly, if a racer wants to run the 60 to 130 event, they will have to pay $35 (in addition to the $20 cost to enter).

Food: concessions will be open all day

Street Tire Class - this includes all DOT approved, grooved street tires. R-compound tires are also included in this class.

Drag Radial Tire Class - this includes all drag radials in any size.

UNLIMITED Class - this includes all cars outfitted with slicks (ET Streets, ET Drags, Hoosier Slicks, etc...)

Sunday March 21, 2010 - Drag Racing Test-n-Tune and Eliminations

The Drag Racing event will be at Lonestar Motorsports Park (www.lonestarmotorsportspark.com) for the fourth year in a row. This year, we will once again bring back the "drag racing for 2 days option". Here are the details:

On Saturday, the track will go hot at 11:00 am and drag racing will continue until 5:00 pm. All runs on Saturday will be test-n-tune and/or qualifying runs. The next day (Sunday), the gates will open at 8:00 am and the track will go hot at 9:00 am. From 9:00 am until 4:00 pm we will have 1 round of qualifying and eliminations. Schedule will be as follows:

12:00 pm - eliminations round 1 (test-n-tune after)
1:30 pm - eliminations round 2 (test-n-tune after)

3:45 pm - final round eliminations

There will be a dedicated lane for test-n-tune ALL DAY LONG.

Cost: spectators will pay $20 to LMP on Sunday. Racers will be able to purchase a "2-day tech card" on Saturday (NON-REFUNDABLE if you break on Friday night) for $80 (in addition to the $20 cost to enter). If a racer only wants to run on Sunday, the tech cards will be the same price as last year, $45 (in addition to the $20 cost to enter). These prices are the SAME as last year.

Food: concessions will be open all day

GTR Classes:
Stock Class - no ECU reflash allowed, must be on stock tune, must be on stock turbos, other bolt ons ok (exhaust, y-pipe)
Modified Class - ECU reflash and bolt ons allowed, only prohibited bolt on is aftermarket turbo's
UNLIMITED Class - no rules

Street Car Class
This is a class that GTR's can run in if you all would like (aside from the GTR Specific classes)

This is the same class we had for the first time in 2009...it will be open to ALL MAKES/MODELS. This class will have a handsome payout and should be very interesting. This class will be administered by the same sponsor new to our event last year...ARD. Thank you to Owen Priest and ARD for helping me put this class together. This class can and should include GTR's, Vettes, Porsche's, Vipers, Supra's, Camaro's, Mustang's, etc...

The rules:

--all entrants will be required to go on a 20-30 mile cruise and will have to stay behind a lead car and in front of an end car...any participant that falls out of that line for any reason during the cruise will be disqualified and entry fee will not be refunded...the cars that fall out can stay and test-n-tune all day...speeds on the cruise will be mostly highway and will be in the 60 mph range...
--the cruise will leave the front gates at Lonestar at 11:30 am...just after qualifying pass 1 and back in enough time to run qualifying pass 2 if wanted
--carpet, both front seats and door panels required
--inspection sticker required (in the state you live in)
--radio that works is required (which means you need speakers too)
--stock suspension required (all suspension components must be located in the stock locations)
--no tire rule
--no fuel rule
--no power adder rule

Please feel free to post questions/comments and give us suggestions as to what the drag classes should be. This event has ALWAYS been about the people that show up and participate and I would love to get your thoughts/input. I will be posting hotel info in 2 seconds...

I'm in!

The Dallas/Ft. Worth Supra club will be running a group convoy again this year from Dallas to the meet hotel on Wed. March 17th. Anyone driving in from out of town is welcome to meet us up in Dallas and take part in the roll out. There is normally a fairly large group. Last year we had 40 cars, this year looks to be an even larger roll out!

Arrival at the hotel is followed immediately by the 4th annual roll-in parking lot party. It was pretty crazy last year... smile.gif

This one is kind of a no brainer. Have GT-R, will travel. We were talking a few months ago about having some sort of GT-R nationals somewhere mid country. I think there was talk about somewhere in the midwest, but this is close enough for me. Looks like this will be much fun. I'll be there.
