The GOTO:Racing crew was hard at work this past weekend testing the new motor and aerodynamic developments of their R35 GT-R racecar. The weekend started with a lengthy dyno session to tune the new AMS Turbo's and DeatschWerks injectors. Tim Bailey from COBB/Surgline Tuning was on hand and did an amazing job with the tune. Results on the dyno were very positive with the car making a very reliable and safe 550 WHP at only 15 psi with the new setup. With the turbo's capable of much more, GOTO:Racing expects to see a reliable 650 WHP once a minor glitch with the MAF sensors is fixed. Harman Motive is continuing its amazing support by producing multiple prototype intakes for testing right after SEMA. The weekend then moved on to Infineon Raceway where Brian Lock and the Dell™ Equallogic GT-R would compete in the TTU class of NASA Time Trials. The weekend was a complete success. Not only did the current tune of the car prove to stand up safely to the thrashings of a competitive road race car, but the new canards designed by GT:R Fabrication proved to add much needed front downforce. The weekend was also used to test the Hoosier R6 tire compound that GOTO will need to run at Super Lap Battle where their normal Hoosier R100 is not allowed. The best lap of the weekend was a 1:41.8, only 2.3 seconds off the cars best time ever at that track with a tire that is 3-4 seconds slower, carrying a passenger, and unfavorable track conditions. GOTO:Racing is very confident that with another 125 HP (and not carrying 150+ lbs of ballast), that they will be very competitive at the upcoming Super Lap event. The turbo's and injector proved to be a huge success running the same HP with a much better power band, and 4 psi less boost than was needed on the stock turbos. Brian reported, “The car is so much more drivable now with a more progressive power band. The car was tough to control before with a huge spike in HP and torque at low RPMs. Now the car makes the horsepower where we need it, up top. I can't wait to feel 21 psi at redline!” Motorsports Brakes Specialists was also on hand to help balance the GT-R's new brake setup. The ABS was removed from the system until it can be reprogrammed for proper wheel diameter. The car was finally able to brake confidently consistently seeing braking G's in the -1.65 to -1.8 range. Perhaps the most important announcement coming from the weekend is that COBB Tuning, long time sponsor and supporter of GOTO:Racing, has signed on as an associate sponsor for Super Lap and Redline Time Attack Finals. GOTO:Racing will continue to use the power of the COBB AccessPort to tune their GT-R, and other COBB customers can rest assure that the AccessPort can be taken to the limit on the most demanding of GT-R platforms. Keep an eye out for updates regarding our second round of dyno testing right after SEMA, and updates from SEMA as well. As always, a huge thanks to our sponsors... Thanks for posting that video! I don't get to see the car from the outside very often, it looks like it just leaps out of turn 11

"Diverse group" is probably the understatement of the year. lol Convertable Porsche, NASCAR-like truck, multiple kit-cars, Mercedes sedan, etc. Pretty funny. The GOTO car was quick for sure. I am pretty sure it was at the top spot for most of the time trials. There was one pretty crazy Porsche that was pretty quick, but I never actually looked at the results. We were just using the TT sessions to practice for the 3 hour enduro that Dan and Scott did in the Scion. It was a cool event overall. Tons of P cars. Lots of radicals , touring cars , etc. TT sessions are always interesting. I actually cut the cars stream out part of the video a bit short. There was about another 30-45 seconds of cars going out in the same session. -------------------- |
