The newest round of unconfirmed, yet plausible information comes courtesy of the GTChannel, where they've reported a number of facts that we've listed in all their bullet-point glory after the jump.
• The chassis designation will be CBA-R35, the last bit continuing the long-held R-number moniker of previous generations
• Three trim levels: Base, Black Edition and Premium – all equipped with the same VR38DETT twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V6
• Everything fit within the engine will be forged
• Six exterior colors: Titanium Gray, Dark Metal Gray, Super Black, Vibrant Red, Ultimate Metal Silver and White Pearl, the last two are classified as premium paints and will command a few extra bucks.
• Two interior colors: Black or Gray, with black appropriately being the only color available on the "Black Edition"
• Rays forged wheels (likely sized 18-inches), coated in chrome and wrapped in Dunlop Sports tires. An upgraded tire and wheel package with gunmetal Rays wheels will be available on the base model, and standard on Black and Premium vehicles.
• Anti-theft and Bose sound will be an option on the base and Black versions, while standard in Premium trim.
• SRS curtain and side airbags will be an option on all three models
As for dimensions, it's been pretty much confirmed that the GT-R will be 4,650mm long (183-inches), with a wheelbase of 2,800 mm (110-inches) and a width of 1,920mm (75.6-inches). Power is still expected to be in the 450 to 550 HP arena, with a curb weight somewhere in the neighborhood of 3,500 lbs.

The only things that really bother me about those specs is the lack of a manual tranny and the record low value of the dollar right now.. If it continues we will be paying a lot more than $70K for this car in the USA...

So is Blue going to be available? Top list does not show it, second post shows it being very limited. Too bad we won't have more color choices. Maybe the US will get some more interesting colors.

No blue. The second post was pasted from Autoblog. So as you can see we are more correct than they

I corrected it so there is no confusion.
One thing to note is these are Japanese Specs. There may be differences in other markets including colors, options, etc..

Is there any information in the ordering guide that anyone has seen that tells us if the transmission is indeed a double clutch system and not a traditional torque-converter automatic with wheel paddles?
Zilla
Sep 26 2007, 07:25 PM
not yet, but you can hear it shifting in the videos and it doesn't sound like a torque-converter automatic.
The shifts are quick.

Well I doubt it would be a V8. The exhaust and engine note that we have been hearing just doesnt match the tone of any configuration V8 (especially in the higher revs). I dont know any manufacturer that would put a V8 in a car....and tune it to where it sounded like anything less.... Nevertheless.......you never know.....
I will say though - a 3.8L TT V6 with 550 hp would be quite impressive for a 70K road car!!

I definitely will get the Premium spec if they offer it here. Sounds more loaded than my 997S was at about the same price as my RS4.... That's a winner. I can't wait to see it in person - I'm still not sold on the proportions in pictures.
The wheel specs have the Dark Chrome color front having a +45 offset but the Chrome color is +20. Since the wheel and tire size specs are identical, I assume this an error.
