Anybody know if and when AAM switchable exhaust will be available in the UK?

I realise i could buy from the US but i'd prefer to have someone local fit it and pick up the aftermarket service.

Ta in advance

Hey Misters3, I think the best way to go is to talk to Clint at AAM. They have shipped many things globally including Hong Kong. Any competent performance shop should be able to install this exhaust. I have this exhaust and it is just awesome. The ability to go from super loud to stock sound with a switch is such a great option to have. You will love it. You might want to check out their AAM 600GT-R package which includes their v1. air intake, resonated midpipe, catted downpipes, variable 90mm exhaust, and a cobb accesport. That was my first mod, I made 533whp from 420whp baseline and it sounds so sweet. Just get in contact with Clint via Pm.

+1, i am sure clint would do a return if you recieved it and decided against it before installation...
its an excellent system, loud when u want it, moderate when u want it, and quiet when u want it

Thanks guys but my concern is, and i hope you'll understand that shipping back and forth from the UK ain't cheap with import duties etc, so the buy and return probably wouldn't be an option. But even then i'm pretty sure the system meets my needs.

My concern is if the switch fails or something happens (i'm not doubting the AAM customer service), it's just easier if someone this side of the pond can assist me with sorting it out who knows what they are doing etc I don't have a regular shop i go to etc. It's very much the HPC who aren't very near me anyways and not sure how aftermarket exhaust friendly they are.

I'm sold on the system so no worries there smile.gif

I didn't actualy know that product. Is there a video that demonstrate this ?

How much for this part ?

Does anyone know how loud this exhaust is in "quiet mode"? We have a 95dB rule on Swedish tracks so I need a quiet exhaust and so far it seems HKS Legamax is the only one that might fit the bill.

I have resonated midpipe, catted dps and on quiet mode sounds like stock. My friend PSgtr got the exhaust on the same day as me. He got to dyno with both closed and open mode and the only difference was 5whp. He dynoed at 530whp fully open and 525whp quiet mode. And remember, you could also adjust the level of loudness so you can partially open for a slightly louder sound. Also, since its 90mm piping, it will be handle any future turbo upgrades. smile.gif

a little toggle switch which we placed by the trunk release controls the valves which open or close it. The video isn't that great, but i will be going out with John @ AAM and making some new sound clips of the exhaust with a better camera. Should be doing this in a month or so. As far as the cost, it's about 4k making it a bargain compared to 7k for TopSecret (titanium tho) and 7.5k for Kriesseg (probably best sounding exhaust for GTR). One thing you have to know tho, if you open fully, the exhaust will only come out of the driver's side. but if you open partially or fully closed, it will go through both sides. If that is a problem for you, this is not the exhaust for you.

Trust me when I tell you that Clint will be able to assist you from this side of the pond, whether through emails, this forum, via phone etc. I know they will work with whatever shop your going to be installing with and any other issues that may arise which is highly doubtful.

i know you own the part, but i am pretty sure that when fully open, a tiny bit of the exhaust still flows to the other side...
atleast thats what mike told me...

Yes we do! I've added the video a little further down in the post. I'll have Clint shoot a pm for pricing!

I'm not sure the exact dB level, but it's pretty quiet when it's in "silent" mode. Take a look! Be sure to turn it up!!
