two times I have seen this warning.

A little about conditions and car is thrown in.

3 months apart .. Cool 55 degrees outside. Car fully warmed up (both oil and tranny temps >170).

Cruising @ around 40 MPH, drop down a gear and WOT, of course I am visually clearing my surroundings but something changes on my dashboard LCD in my peripheral.. (I usually have my MPH displayed in the LCD).Come out of throttle, look @ LCD and it has some text displayed .... before I can fully read the text .. it is gone and my MPH is back in place ... came home looked in manual and I could not find a match to jog what little I had seen .. I pull codes .. there are none.

3 months later ... exactly the same .. except I get the word "clutch" before my MPH comes back ... again no codes.

The only two error displays I see with "clutch" in is this warning:

2009, resonated Mid-Pipe, Cobb custom tune ... all else as delivered

Clutches had been relearned about 30 days before the first incident (about 4 month before the 2nd). Have no feeling of slippage at all ... and keep in mind the LCD Message felt like it was directly tied to the throttle .. meaning instantaneous after WOT.

Which of the two errors is most likely and why?

Has anyone else seen this, or have any potential explanations?

hmm sounds strange but I bet it has to do with a high torque value on your trans or awd clutch. Is the trans temps normal?

Yeah and there was no variance in temp .. meaing it did not suddenly jump.

The thing I find most strange is that both of the possible warnings are temp related .. yet the warning displays and is gone in a matter of seconds ... much shorter than a volume of fluid could gain and disperse heat ...

I do think it must be related to the higher output related to colder intake air charge temps ... just not sure why it shows and then goes away so quickly.

BTW: thanks for reviewing and responding, seems no one else is willing to hazzard a thought!

i might be wrong but it might be your clutch slipping. you are saying that it happened after you down shift and WOT which is a good environment for clutch slip to occur and increase temps with a very fast rate.
what are your clutch settings ?

I get that sometimes and my temps are always fine... minor Clutch slip I think and this car is overly sensative like a 16 year old girl
