Thought everyone would want to know this. Nissan announced the price of the 2011 GT-R today.

QUOTE:

To all Nissan Certified GT-R Dealers:

Nissan is pleased to announce pricing for the 2011 GT-R. The 2011 GT-R is equipped with a 3.8L

twin-turbo charged engine producing 485 hp and advanced All-Wheel Drive technology that

provides outstanding performance. Combined with its aggressive design, the GT-R continues to be

the purest, most passionate expression of the Nissan brand.

In previous years, the GT-R was available in two trim levels, Base and Premium. In 2011, the

Base model has been discontinued and the GT-R is now available in one trim level, GT-R Premium.

The following features become standard on the 2011 model:

 premium near black wheel finish

rear cooling ducts to help improve cooling performance around the rear floor area

 auto on/off head lights

 speed-sensitive windshield wipers

 USB iPod interface

 Bluetooth streaming audio

XM NavWeather and XM NavTraffic capabilities.

For the ultimate enthusiast, the Dunlop summer ultra-high performance run-flat tires are available

as a package at no extra cost. The Cold Weather Package remains the same with the Dunlop 7010

all season tires and high luster dark smoke wheel finish.

The MY11 Nissan GT-R MSRP is as follows: (D&H is not included)

 GT-R Premium $84,060

UNQUOTE

AND, here is some infor for you from our training site (the differences between 2010 and 2011 models):

For 2011, GT-R Premium is the only model offered (the base model is discontinued), and it receives several feature upgrades.

The navigation system is now the next-generation Nissan Hard Drive Navigation System. This advanced system adds new features including XM NavWeather™ real-time weather reports (subscription required), streaming audio via Bluetooth®, DVD playback, an expanded point-of-interest (POI) database that includes the Zagat® restaurant guide, and a USB port4 that replaces the Interface System for iPod® connector and CompactFlash reader.

Other changes for 2011 include:

  • The suspension is retuned and rear bushings strengthened to enhance ride comfort without compromising performance handling.
  • The color tone of the center caps on the wheels is slightly darker.
  • Double clear coat paint is added to the fascias.
  • Rear cooling ducts are modified underneath the body.
Automatic on/off headlights are now standard.

IF anyone wants to order one, I have an allocation I can configure TODAY.
Pick your color (paint options are the same as 2010: Solid Red, Super Silver, Gun Metallic, Black Obsidian, and Pearl White) and pick your interior (options are same as 2009/2010) , and let me know if you want the DUNLOP
ultra-high performance run-flat tires
Delivery ETA is May 2010.
I'll sell it at MSRP......$10,000 fully-refundable deposit required.

315??? Wonder if it would be better to buy one these because of the rarity or just find a 2009 like i originally planned....... hmmmmmmm
JO | SWITZER
Anyone else able to confirm that 315 number?
Kris@GTRBlog
I know Nissan are keeping volume low for MY2011 so i'm not surprised. The reason is demand will be low once they announce MY2012 GT-R....................................

I'm not surprised they're limiting the production to only 315, and surprised that they're still selling the GT-R at all, after the questionable lawsuit they suffered. IMO, it's becoming unappealing for Japanese automakers to sell cars to the US especially now with the Toyota witch-hunting going on. Maybe they should stop selling their cars in the US altogether.

So according to the actual current sales figures Nissan is selling 70 units a month in the US which is 840 units over a 12 month model year. Sooo we should believe they will just not send enough supply to cover the potential 525 GT-R customers this year?
tsgill714
bsflag.gif I highly doubt that this post is true. There's no evidence that says only 315 2011 GT-Rs are being sent to the US.

well the real sales rate might be higher for a full year due to 1 an improving economy and 2 as we get into spring/summer, sales should pick up.

either way, recent sales numbers are lower than what theyve sent over since some cars end up as dealer inventory. that said, if they really are only going to send over 315, thats not many but it might just close out current inventory + demand if not restore some.

LOL You do realize that the US is 25% of total Nissan sales? They aren't going to pack up their shit and leave anytime soon. Nice hysterics though wavey.gif

I heard this from more than one dealership that this ia true. There are plenty of prior year gtrs that need to be sold and demand for the car is low apparently. Kill two birds with one stone kinda thing.

You are assuming that the current demand for a $85,000 (pre-tax) Japanese super car will hold out. Maybe most of us that want one and can afford one already have one?

Hmm, the auto-lights I have on other cars, don't really see how someone could want that really badly. It's not hard to remember to turn on the lights. When it gets dark, flip 'em on!

As for the wiper system it's still rubbish as I outlined in this other thread

Not so much auto-on that I want, but more like auto-off. I know our cars do turn the lights off after a certain amount of time, but I read somewhere on the forum that this is actually bad for the car's battery? Someone want to confirm this for me?

You mean to shut off the car and leave the lights on? Why would you do that? Turn them off when you park the car!

Haha, I always do. I daily drive a G35 and it has a loud beep if you don't turn off the lights but on my friend's g37, I think he had a feature when you just lock your car it turns off the lights after a few seconds. It's not a big deal 90% of the time, but when it's pitch black outside and nobody turns any lights on in the house, it could help with the key-fumble to get in my front door.

I wasn't just meaning the auto-light only; USB iPod interface, Bluetooth streaming audio, rear cooling ducts and new navigation system with dvd playback are interested.

You should get Adrey's video kit.. then you can hook up your video game system, dvd player or even your ipod to play through the factory screen.

Does the 09 and 10's use the exact same transmission? Same part number and no difference? If so, I would assume the same is happening for the 11's right?

I'm really curious how much change in the suspension can be felt...
xchouderx
i don't think there will be major change, but minor changes throughout the car...there are a couple threads stating whats being changed

Will the 2011 warranty cover track days, like the 2009, or not, like the 2010?
